In the June 2, 1999 Sports Illustrated, an article appeared written by Richard Hoffer identifying the 20 Greatest Sports Venues in the World  based on the writers at the magazine and different polls that were taken. In the Year 2000, my best friend and business partner Brian Fowlie and I decided to make the basis of this article one of our life goals. The goal is, "To travel to a great event at each of the 20 Best Sport Venues in the World".

The picture book above shows all 20 sports venues in the order that Sports Illustrated ranked them. The venues we have attended, you will see a picture of us there, otherwise we have included one of our favorite pictures of the venue.

We decided that we would do one venue each year until the first ten are completed in 2009. After that, we will do one venue every two years for completion in the Year 2029. We love this goal, and we developed this web site, as we thought you might enjoy following our journey.

The article that started our fun can be accessed from the menu at the left or with the following link. Please read the article it is fantastic and it got us hooked.

Our Favorite Venues
Sports Illustrated, June 2, 1999

Take the next steps, and follow the menu on the left of this page to learn about all 20 venues. The venues are listed as they were ranked by Sports Illustrated. We will put a check mark beside all the venues that we have experienced on our Journey to 20. Once you enter the venue page, if we were there we will start with our story and you can see our favorite pictures from the trip followed by what Sports Illustrated had to say about the venue. If we haven't been there yet, we will open with the Sports Illustrated comments on this venue.

We only have one thing to say about this journey so far, to quote Richard Hoffer, "You really had to be there, we were glad we were!
